Newly engaged Katy Perry showed off her engagement when arriving in London on Saturday night. Perry’s fiance, comedian Russell Brand, popped the question on New Year’s Eve over a romantic candle-lit dinner and elephant ride in India.

Carrie Underwood, the former American Idol winner, is engaged to be married to professional hockey player boyfriend Mike Fisher.
Carrie’s spokesperson, Jessie Schmidt, said “I’m happy to confirm that Carrie Underwood is engaged to Mike Fisher, and the couple couldn’t be happier.”
Sources are reporting that Fisher popped the question surrounded by Carrie’s family and friends yesterday.
Underwood has had a lot to celebrate this year, as her third album Play On debuted at number one and she was nominated for a Grammy and Country Music Award and as of this weekend.

Since her passing yesterday from cardiac arrest, actress Brittany Murphy’s friends are beginning to speak out about her struggle with a poor body image.
Clueless director Amy Heckerling believes the problem may have originated from the set of their film:
“She seemed to go through a change on Clueless. Maybe she felt like she was not the, like, skinny, pretty girl, you know? And then the next few movies she was, you know, thinner, blonde … going out with Eminem and Ashton Kutcher.”
Another source said:
“A lot of her problems were due to poor self image. She wore extraordinary amounts of makeup, tons of fake eyelashes, got her teeth capped, dyed her hair blonde, lost weight – she wanted to be a beauty. She didn’t want to be the fat girl from Clueless. She didn’t eat a lot. She would drink copious amounts of coffee.”
32-year-old Murphy was rumored to have troubles with drug abuse and eating disorders. The authorities found several perscription medications in the actress’ home and she had been suffering from flu-like symptoms in the days leading up to her death.
Murphy’s body is currently undergoing an autopsy, against the wishes of her husband Simon Monjack. The autopsy will take four to eight weeks for toxicology results to come back with a final cause of death.

Kendra introduces her baby boy, Hank Baskett IV, to the world in this week’s OK magazine.
This is the first child for Kendra and her husband, Colts wide reciver Hank Baskett, who were married in 2008.
Kendra initially planned a natural childbirth, but ended having a C-section at 12:37 a.m. on Dec. 11, 2009, in Carmel, Ind.

Jaycee Lee Dugard, who was abducted 18 years ago has been found alive and well and her captors are in custody.
The now 29-year-old woman walked into a police station in tiny Antioch, Calif., Wednesday, her stepfather Carl Probyn told ABCNews.com.
“I had personally given up hope,” he said. “I had just hoped for a recovery and to find the people responsible.” He added, “I’ve actually won the lotto.”
Not too many details have been releases, as the authorities are waiting for a press conference at 6 p.m. ET, but court records show that a search warrant was issued for 1554 Walnut Ave., Antioch, the address of Philllip and Nancy Garrido.
The Garridos are in police custody, charged with kidnapping to commit rape and bail was set at $1 million.
Jaycee was taken on June 10, 1991 as she tried to catch the bus to school, and her stepfather could hear her screams. “I saw them pull her in and I tried to get her,” Probyn said.
When asked about Jaycee’s mother, Terry Probyn, he said, “She’s in shock.” He added that the FBI told his wife that “they have Jaycee and the people she was with.”
“She sounds like she’s okay,” he said. “She had a conversation with my wife and she remembers things. I hope she’s been well treated this entire 18 years.”
There has yet to be a DNA test to confirm the woman’s claims, but the Probyn’s said that she remembers her childhood.

Yesterday 67-year-old United Technologies chairman George David, whose 37-year-old wife is demanding $99 million, or approximately a third of his fortune, took the stand in Hartford Family Court answering questions about purchases of lingerie for his mistress, Wendy Touton.
But apparently the wife, Marie Douglas-David, is the one who wants out. After seven years of marriage she wants a $100 million settlement despite a 2005 post-nuptial agreement she says she signed under duress.
“I married a very controlling person,” the Swedish countess said in a phone interview with The Courant about her on-again, off-again marriage that began unraveling two years after their 2002 wedding.
“I’m not mad at him,” she said, insisting she is not bitter. “But I feel sorry for him. It’s not an elegant way to divorce.”

It didn’t take long for Jon Gosselin to bounce back from his broken marriage.

Less than three weeks after wife Kate Gosselin filed for divorce, the “Jon & Kate Plus 8″ patriarch showed off a new girlfriend during a trip to St. Tropez on Saturday.
The 32-year-old father of eight traveled to the South of France with Hailey Glassman, the daughter of the doctor who performed his wife’s tummy tuck.
News of Gosselin’s new girlfriend may come as a shock to those following the “Jon & Kate” drama, as the other woman in question has been 23-year-old Deanna Hummel.
Even after news broke of Gosselin’s alleged affair with the school teacher, the couple continued to see each other, as well as take a snowboarding vacation to Utah in March.
While Gosselin’s relationship with Hummel became somewhat public, his “friendship” with Glassman went under the radar.
Gosselin denied any wrongdoing when he was photographed hanging out with Glassman and her mother, Lauren, at the Front Street Bar and Grill in Newburgh, NY on Memorial Day.
“The two women with whom I’ve been photographed are family friends,” Jon told People.com. “Lauren’s husband, Dr. Larry Glassman, performed Kate’s tummy tuck surgery, and since the surgery we’ve become friendly with the Glassmans.”
Apparently, Gosselin’s definition of “friendly” differs from most others.
An Ed Hardy-clad Gosselin and his 22-year-old new girlfriend were seen smoking cigarettes and holding hands while in the French Riviera, where they also took a ride on fashion designer Christian Audigier’s yacht.
