Almost 1 in 5 American toddlers is obese

A striking new study released yesterday by the government’s National Center for Education Statistics says almost one in five American four-year olds is obese.  According to the CDC, nearly one out of three children ages two to 19 is overweight or at risk of becoming overweight.

In the video below, boxing champ Laila Ali and Subway spokesperson Jared Fogle give practical tips to help children and their parents maintain a healthy weight and prevent obesity:

The National Institute of Health’s We Can! program has partnered with Subway restaurants to educate families throughout the United States about obesity. The program promotes three easy steps for preventing obesity: eat right, move more and limit screen time.
