Hannah Powell-Auslam, a Fullerton, Calif. girl, is battling stage IIA breast cancer, also known as invasive ductal carcinoma.  Apparently children and adolescents have only a 0.1 percent chance of developing breast cancer and it’s even rarer for a child to develop invasive ductal carcinoma, which is considered to be an adult cancer.

On May 7, Hannah had a “simple left breast mastectomy,” according to her Web site, OurLittleSweetPea.com.

So how did Hannah get breast cancer at such a young age?  Doctors say she may have a genetic disposition, therefore carrying the breast cancer gene.

So sad!  Our thoughts go out to little Hannah and her family.
