The Internet is buzzing right now with parents in an uproar after pictures of a supposed pole dancer doll were posted online. No one really knows who originally took the photos and where the doll was found.
Apparently the doll dances when the music is turned on, and she goes up, down and around the pole. While the doll doesn’t actually look very provocative, but rather innocent like a child, the very concept of the is causing great distress amongst concerned parents.
And that’s not the only “kids” item parents are angry about. One company is making baby-tees with nipple tassles. ParentDish interviewed the designer behind TwistedTwee, which is sells t-shirts for babies and preschoolers that include nipple tassels.
The designer, Suzi Warren, told said that “The Nipple Tassel t-shirt was designed as a response to my own distaste at seeing mini versions of sexy clothes on young children. Five-year-olds wearing slashed mini skirts and boob tubes, little thumb-sucking Britneys.”

Fall is here and suede is back. Marvelous Girl chatted with Nancy leWinter, editorial direct of OneStopPlus.com about this year’s hot fall trends:
MG: What types of shoes are on trend for fall?
NL: Boots of every type are very important this fall. Wedges give height and stability, and both wedges and booties are very flattering both under pants and with dresses and skirts when worn with tights. The peep toe is a retro take that makes the look soft and sexy. Tall boots are now for everyone because they’re available in wide and extra-wide calf widths and can be worn over leggings or under a great pencil skirt. This season is also all about detail on footwear, from ruffles and ruching to studs and snaps. And heels don’t have to be high to be high fashion with fabulous flats.
MG: Why is suede a good fabric to use for fall?
NL: Suede is softer than leather and molds to the foot…great over tights. It also comes in the season’s best colors, but it is important to make sure suede is weatherized to avoid spotting.
MG: Do you specifically take high-end designers collections into consideration when picking your inventory for the season?
NL: Our selection is so large that we are able to provide a variety of trends, including the trends followed by high-end designers. Most important, we recognize our customers want style and comfort, and that is a trend we can all love.
Jaycee Lee Dugard, who was abducted 18 years ago, has been found alive and well and her captors are in custody.
The now 29-year-old woman walked into a police station in tiny Antioch, Calif., Wednesday, her stepfather Carl Probyn told ABCNews.com.
“I had personally given up hope,” he said. “I had just hoped for a recovery and to find the people responsible.” He added, “I’ve actually won the lotto.”
Not too many details have been releases, as the authorities are waiting for a press conference at 6 p.m. ET, but court records show that a search warrant was issued for 1554 Walnut Ave., Antioch, the address of Philllip and Nancy Garrido.
The Garridos are in police custody, charged with kidnapping to commit rape and bail was set at $1 million.
Jaycee was taken on June 10, 1991 as she tried to catch the bus to school, and her stepfather could hear her screams. “I saw them pull her in and I tried to get her,” Probyn said.
When asked about Jaycee’s mother, Terry Probyn, he said, “She’s in shock.” He added that the FBI told his wife that “they have Jaycee and the people she was with.”
“She sounds like she’s okay,” he said. “She had a conversation with my wife and she remembers things. I hope she’s been well treated this entire 18 years.”
There has yet to be a DNA test to confirm the woman’s claims, but the Probyn’s said that she remembers her childhood.
Update: Apparently Jaycee’s abductor, Phillip Garrido, is a religious freak who kept the girl imprisoned in the backyard. He is also said to have fathered two daughters with Jaycee, aged 15 and 11-years-old.
Your special little someone is about to arrive and baby is going to need an equally special birth announcement – after all, this is his/her debut and first impressions are everything. It may seem like an easy task, but once couples get started they may find it more challenging than they initially thought.
Here are five tips for creating the perfect birth announcement for your little bundle of joy:
1. Select a card that shows your family’s style—unique and individual to represent you and your new baby.
2. Selecting a photo—choose one with sentimental value that evokes a special memory.
3. Keep it simple—a simple introduction followed by the birth details such as name, weight and birth date is ideal.
4. Save time and money by using an Internet photo card company, like www.photoaffections.com. Easily select a template and then insert the photo and text. Once complete, the birth announcements are delivered directly to your home.
5. Research photo card company websites prior to the birth. Then, insert the photo and information to complete the project when baby arrives. Traditional etiquette suggests birth announcements be sent within 6 months of the birth.
